GREEN CO₂ From Renewable Energy
At Frozen Delivered, a division of Chillistick Ltd, we take pride in producing dry ice through sustainable means. Our CO2 is derived from Green Feedstocks, harnessed from renewable energy sources. This energy is generated through anaerobic digestion, a process in which local farmers produce renewable gas from biomass anaerobic digestion. This source fuels our commitment to environmental responsibility.
Feedstock is raw material used for processing or manufacturing another product. For example corn is used to produce ethanol and soybean oil is used to product biodiesel. In our case, renewable feedstock also known as green feedstock, involves biomass - material from living organisms, mainly plants. This contrast with depleting feedstocks, like petroleum, ensures a continuous supply as we can readily grow new plants. This philosophy drives our sustainable CO2 production.
What is dry ice?
Dry ice, a solid form of carbon dioxide (CO₂), boasts unique characteristics. Its extreme coldness (-79°C) allows it to transition from solid to gas without becoming liquid – hence the name "dry" ice. Popular for preserving frozen goods, it avoids the pitfalls of water-based alternatives like ice and gel packs. Frozen Delivered's commitment to sustainability ensures that our dry ice, created using GREEN CO₂ from renewable energy, contributes positively to the environment.
What Is Anaerobic Digestion?
Anaerobic digestion is a natural process that breaks down organic matter using microorganisms in an oxygen-free environment. This method yields carbon dioxide, methane, and water. Methane is used for power generation and heating, while CO₂ is purified, liquefied, and delivered to local food and drink industry customers.
In our manufacturing process, we employ specialized equipment to capture carbon dioxide emissions, allowing us to reintegrate the gas into our system, eliminating waste and promoting a circular economy.
EIGA & ISBT Food & Beverage Grade Quality
Chillistick's Green CO₂ undergoes rigorous testing using advanced analytical technology and adheres to industry best practices. As a result, our CO₂ meets the high standards of EIGA and ISBT Food and Beverage Grade quality, ensuring our commitment to quality and sustainability.
By choosing Frozen Delivered, you're choosing dry ice that's not only reliable but also environmentally friendly. Our sustainable practices set us apart, providing you with the highest quality products while minimizing our carbon footprint.
